Forget About Dieting To Lose Weight

By Melissa Moore

Are you serious about weight loss? And I mean, healthy and permanent weight loss. If so, have you set realistic goals? Instead of having a concrete, specific goal to strive for, most people just want to lose weight very quickly. Quickly is not a specific goal and it is important to remember that in order to lose weight in a healthy manner, it takes time.

People that want quick weight loss usually jump to fad dieting and weight loss pills. Yes, some pounds will be lost with these methods, but is not fat loss. With most of the fad diets, you will lose more water and muscles than fat. Sooner or later you will regain the weight will return as weight loss under those methods is seldom permanent. Plus, it is very unhealthy!

Another tip regarding you goals: your aim shouldn't be to have a body like Victoria Beckham. Your goals need to be realistic and ideally be focused on what is right for you. Models and movie stars can afford a lot of help to maintain their slim figures.

Moreover, you don't need to be like them. All you need is to be healthy and to lose enough weight so that you can reach your ideal body weight! You won't need to use any fad diets or starve for weeks to do that. Just eat right and include the right dose of exercises with it. Focus on those two things and I'm sure you will be pleasantly surprise with your results.

Focus on healthy eating and just forget about the word 'dieting! You can begin by taking baby steps. Quench your thirst without getting fatter by drinking water instead of soda. Some people think that it is okay as long as they reach for the diet brand of soft drinks. You can be more wrong. They not only taste bad, but being deprived of fructose, they make you crave for sugar.

Another simple replacement would be whole grain wheat instead of white flour. Whole grain is full has a lot of protein and fiber. It contains little fat and will surely contribute to your weight loss efforts!

For exercises, I highly recommend weight training. Contrary to what women think, not only is this exercise not just for men, it also won't take away the femininity of women. Weight training is very effective and is one of the quickest exercise methods for quick weight loss.

If you are a woman, do not be concerned about becoming huge like a body builder. For the most part, if one wants to build huge muscles like that, then testosterone is pretty important and women don't have that. Besides, bodybuilders aren't able to build muscles just by doing exercises. They also use protein shakes, supplements and steroids to acquire the muscular body.

Exercise has many other healthy benefits as well. You will have more energy; you get this extra energy by burning your fat deposits. You will also feel better overall as you will be able to sleep more soundly.

Another way you can benefit from exercises is that they help you build strong lean muscles, improve your immune system and stamina. Exercises also help in improving the tone and appearance of skin, something which most women are obsessed with! - 15485
