Amanda's Good & Easy Spiced Tea Recipe

By Nancy Broussard

First a little background. Amanda is a young, married career woman with two young children who makes and gives away her wonderful spiced tea at Christmas time.

In some parts of the country, people look forward to snow when winter arrives. In South Louisiana, winter means Amanda will soon be giving us her great tea mix. But, Amanda's tea is so easy to make that we can do it...as can you...anytime.

You can begin with a cup of powdered instant tea mix. Amanda uses Nestea, but you can try other brands if you have a favorite.

Add two cups of Tang. Again, you may try a similar brand if you are a risk taker or you can use sugar free Tang if you or any of your friends or family members are diabetic.

Next, pour two cups of sugar or a sugar free sweetener into the bowl containing the powdered tea and the Tang.

Then, add a packet of dry lemonade mix and combine everything. You can store the final mixture in plastic or glass. When you're ready for a great warm drink, microwave a cup of water and add the tea mixture to suit your taste.

Everyone will enjoy the wonderful tart taste and the bright orange color. And, everyone will want the recipe. Count on it. - 15485
