Skip Hire - Clean or Dirty?

By Trashy Skipern

I don't know if you have noticed the piles of rubbish that are starting form around our streets and on our roads.

We normally blame people directly for letting their litter drop onto the pavements and roads, but in many cases the culprit lies with a particular type of truck.

reckless skip hire drivers are to blame for the majority. This may seem like a silly concept, but when you think about it, it makes perfect sense. If a skip is full of rubbish, say on a skip hire lorry, and is being driven along at an incredible speed down the motorway, it is more than likey that the rubbish is going to fly off, onto the road. this not only litters our streets, but also is quite dangerous for other road users.

The last thing a driver needs is having to swerve to avoid an empty drinks bottle or a piece of newspaper that is flying past their windscreen.

The roads should be clear so drivers can get to where they are going in a safe manner, our streets should be clean to avoid illness and such problems related.

skip hire lorry drivers need to place a netting over the skip when upon collection, when it is being placed on their skip hire lorry. This will stop flying debris. And make sure all the rubbish gets to where it is going, instead of taking a detour on our roads.

we cant place all the balme on the skip hire drivers, for I believe it is also the responsibility of the hirer to ensure that the skip is not overfilled. Although the skip hire driver should actually refuse to take the skip if this is the case.

It is such an easy objective to achieve, yet it will actually make a massive difference to the citizens who have to fight their way through waste been thrown from a skip hire truck. - 15485
